I’m so excited to welcome long time friend and hospice champion, Kaishauna Guidry, MD, HMDC, to the HAPC Virtual Grand Rounds to present her lecture on non-traditional ways to have a HAPC career. There are ways to make an impact in our field outside of the well-defined academic or community hospice and palliative care – I’m excited to learn more!
Dr. Guidry is the author of three books Dr. G’s H.O.S.P.I.C.E. Pocket Guide: The 7 Things Hospice Physicians Need to Know to be Ready for Work; The Real Deal About Hospice: Short Stories Highlighting the Advantages of Hospice Care for Patients and Families; The Pocket Guide For Hospice Nurse Practitioners: Vital Members of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team. All written to educate healthcare professionals and the public about the value of quality hospice care.
She also authored Chapter 11 on “Diversity in Hospice care” for the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine’s Hospice Physician and Medical Director Manual (4th edition).
