Pediatric Palliative Care with Heather Valente

Heather Valente is a PA-C with the Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Care department, known as the Supportive Care team, at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. In 2019 she completed an Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship with the team and has been working with them ever since. Within her role with the Supportive Care team, she has helped to creative a program that allows the team to provide home visits to children that are enrolled in hospice care. Additionally, she works with local EMS agencies to provide training for medically complex children when they are discharged home. She is a preceptor for PA students and lectures for PA programs. In her spare time, she volunteers with the National MS Society, enjoys taking walks with her dog, and is training for a half marathon with her best friend.
